Change Agents in Tech
The tech sector stands out amongst its peers for pervasive sexual harassment and the  lack of diversity regarding women, African-Americans and Latinx from entry level positions to the c-suite and ultimately the board room. This critical industry that affects how we work, live and play is not reflective of the overall population. A few bold companies and a groundswell of investors in Silicon Valley and beyond are leveraging their platforms to call out disparities, fund start-ups and ensure a more diverse tech-talent pipeline.

What Hollywood Teaches Us About Inclusion
The treatment of women in Hollywood has gained the world's attention but sexism and degradation are hardly unique to the entertainment industry.  Workers in agriculture, culinary and hospitality also face unsafe working conditions and low wages to boot.  We use Hollywood as an example of how industries must work diligently to resolve systemic behaviors that hold women back. Bold-faced names are leading the way in a national conversation about how to put an end to the sexual harassment and the unequal treatment of women in the workplace. This is part of a larger discussion on how industries must embrace diversity globally to sustain growth and profitability. We'll discuss the long-term objectives of the Time's Up initiative and the #MeToo movement as well as the overall importance of representation.

The Gerrymandering Factor
Gerrymandering -- the process of deliberately creating districts that favor one political party over another -- can contribute to voter suppression and political inequality. Armed with powerful computers employing sophisticated algorithms, states increasingly are drawing political lines to lock in the status quo. Gerrymandering can result in constituents' desires being out of sync with legislators' actions. We'll examine the ripple effects and barriers it poses for advancing equality across many levels.

Employing Justice-Involved Individuals
Individuals involved in the justice system have a difficult time securing employment. A lack of technical skills and dearth of job opportunities for workers with a criminal record is often a contributing factor for recidivism.  Today, as societal sentiment shifts, corporations are becoming more open to hiring workers previously involved with the justice system. We'll address the skills, job training and support networks required to reduce the recidivism rate, boost employment and encourage more employers to engage with this group.
